V3 Recording Sessions

We’ve just finished a week of recording for our next album (working title “V3″). We put about 15 songs down so plenty to choose from . I like Colplay’s maxim that an album should have no more than ten songs…so some work to do.

New Song

Just finished a demo of a new song “My Loneliness” – pretty happy with it, hear a sneak preview here.

New Songs Flowing…

I’ve had a few weeks concentrating on music and writing songs and managed to eclipse my output from the last twelve months. Tried out a new one last night “We can make this day” which will be a real stormer I think. We’re in the process of finding a recording space that we can set up for a month or so. Our idea is that we avoid the usual pressure of getting a good backline sound and recording the basic tracks in just a few days – and then spend months overdubbing and tweaking. Also a non-studio environment will give the music a different vibe – hopefully we’ll get a more live sound and have the luxury of recording when we want to and until we get it right!

V3 Pre-Production Begins

We had our first pre-production session for the new album last night. The Christmas break is always a good chance to get re-energised and I spent a bit of time pulling some new songs together and reworking some older ideas (good to record ideas, leave them for a while, then come back to them – see if they’re any good )

So we have a pile of songs that we’ll work through and refine over the next while. Great to be in creative mode again!
